You can start your holiday on any date you want, walk for as many days as you want and add extra days for sightseeing or relaxing. If you want a shorter trip than our itineraries suggest, it’s not usually a problem to take days out and re-price the holiday accordingly.

Our extensive collection of walking routes cover the whole of Britain from Cornwall in the south of the country to the Highlands of Scotland in the far north. And as each walking route has several itineraries, you’ll be able to choose your perfect walking holiday, whatever your interest or walking ability. All of our walking holidays are safe for solo walkers.
And we haven’t forgotten Fido either! On many of our walking routes your dog can accompany you.
LOCAL EXPERTS
All of our walking breaks have been researched, planned, tried and tested by an expert on the area the trail passes through. Every trail we offer has been walked by at least one member of the Contours Walking Holidays team and we are always delighted to give you a personal view of the walk and answer any questions you may have on the type of terrain encountered, distances covered, likely weather conditions or footwear suitable for the walk.

Welcoming, comfortable accommodation is one of the hallmarks of a Contours Walking Holiday. Every B&B, guest house, inn or hotel that we use has been hand-picked by us to ensure that it offers a warm and friendly welcome, comfortable accommodation and tasty food.
HOLIDAY DOCUMENTS
We send your holiday documents – itinerary, maps, guidebook and/or route notes - well advance so you can go through them at leisure before you travel.
RELIABLE LUGGAGE TRANSFER
Over the years we have built strong relationships with the people – specialist carriers, accommodation providers and taxi drivers – that move your luggage, so that you can relax and enjoy your walk each day knowing your luggage will be safely delivered to your next accommodation.

FINANCIAL SECURITY
You can relax in the knowledge that any payments you make to us are completely protected.
In accordance with The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992, all passengers booking with Contours Walking Holidays Ltd are fully insured for the initial deposit and subsequently the balance of all monies paid to us, including repatriation if required, arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Contours Walking Holidays Ltd. A certificate detailing this cover is given to each and every passenger as evidence of cover. This insurance has been arranged by Towergate Chapman Stevens through HCCI International Insurance Company PLC.
GROUP DISCOUNTS
Book a tour with two or more friends of family members and save £££s.
Our tour prices have been calculated on the assumption that there will be two people sharing the fixed costs (luggage transport between accommodations, maps, guidebook(s) and administrative costs). As a result we offer reduced rates for groups of three or more people booking a tour together. In addition the single supplement (which includes some of the fixed costs which would be borne by the second walker as well as any single occupancy charges) will be lower for single walkers in a group. Please note that group discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion, discount or offer.
NO HIDDEN CHARGES
Unlike many of our competitors, we do not add 1.5% - 2% to the price of your holiday if you chose to pay by credit card.
OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE
When you contact our office our friendly and knowledgeable staff will help you choose the holiday that is right for you and answer any questions you may have.
In the unlikely event that you are not entirely happy with the service you receive, Mark or Karen Townsend, the Directors of Contours Walking Holidays, will personally deal with your concerns.
EMERGENCY SUPPORT
We provide a 24-hour emergency telephone service should you need out of hours support during your holiday.
LOYALTY SCHEME
As a “thank you” to our many loyal customers, we’ll apply a 5% discount to anyone who has booked 5 or more walking breaks within the last 8 years, providing details are given at the time of booking. Please note that this discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion, discount or offer.
