Extra nights/Rest days

An extra night gives you a chance to explore some of the villages on the path or simply relax on one of the sandy beaches for which Cornwall is famous. Porthleven with its picturesque harbour is a lovely place to linger. Mullion is the largest village on the Lizard Peninsula and has shops, inns, cafes and restaurants, craft shops and art galleries.   In the centre of the village, the 15th century church of St Mellanus is renowned for its richly-carved oak bench-ends depicting biblical scenes, including that of Jonah and the Whale.  Mullion Cove has a pretty working harbour.   The delightful village of Coverack is another good choice for a rest day.   Consider Helford if you would like to visit Daphne Du Maurier's Frenchman's Creek in the beautiful Helford River.
