Your Itinerary

This itinerary lists our preferred overnight stops for this tour. Sometimes there may be a shortage of available accommodation in a preferred location, in which case we will transfer you from the trail to your accommodation and back again at no extra charge. Overnight stops marked with a (T) will always require transfers as standard.

Overnight stops marked with an (L) have very limited accommodation, and therefore more often than not will also require a transfer, particularly on bank holidays and weekends. We will use non-transfer accommodation wherever possible.

The daily mileages quoted are average trail miles only and do not include the distance from the trail to your accommodation. We do not expect you to have to travel more than a mile from the trail to your accommodation in most cases; should your accommodation be further than this, transfers will be provided as standard if practical. A very limited number of stops will require you to travel on foot up to two miles off the trail, however these instances will be clearly communicated to you if applicable.

Further transfers may also be required due to some accommodations having a two-night minimum booking policy, especially at weekends.

Below are the additional costs that may apply depending on your requirements. Dog-friendly tours are subject to a Daily Dog Charge, which will be listed below if applicable. Our standard prices per person are based upon two people sharing a room; if you are on your own, or are part of a group but require a room of your own, then the Solo Traveller or Single Supplements apply respectively:

Extra Nights & Rest Days

Moreton-in-Marsh is a popular choice for an extra night - the historic city of Oxford is only 30 minutes away by train.

Winchcombe is also a great location to explore. It is a charming small town with two or three inns, many attractive old Tudor houses, cottages with roses clambering over their porches and a fine church containing an altar cloth worked by Catherine of Aragon, Henry VIII's first wife. Forty-five grotesque gargoyles, each representing a local character from the 1460ss adorn its outer walls. Winchcombe is also a good base for exploring Sudeley Castle and its romantic gardens.

Broadway is also a lovely village with two wonderful churches, a fine old inn and some interesting little shops.

Customer reviews from the Cotswold Round

“Accommodations were charming, the walk was exactly what we expected, and the folks at Contours who helped us with all our requirements and changes were unfailingly courteous and prompt.”
Mr Zimmerman, USA
“We really enjoyed our holiday and everything went to plan. The accommodation was very good and our rooms comfortable and clean. The scenery on our walk was stunning and we particularly enjoyed walking through all the wildflower meadows and seeing so many butterflies and bees. Thanks for all your help.”
Mrs Baillie, UK
“Wonderful landscape and very helpful and friendly people. We are satisfied with the hotel and Bed and breakfasts we spend the night. It is a fantastic way of holiday. I surely will return to England for a new walk.”
Ms Aanes, Norway
“A wonderful holiday. Just what I hoped it would be.”
Mr Atkinson, Australia
“A good route with a lot of variation, aided by excellent walking weather.”
Mrs Burridge, UK
“Lovely towns and villages to visit, accommodation to enjoy, walking not too challenging, all helped by warm, dry weather. A well thought out walk linking some of the Cotswolds' loveliest towns and villages, using a series of well-established and waymarked routes - Monarch's Way, Warden's Way, Windrush Way, Cotswold Way, etc. We've been on 15 Contours holidays, starting in 2010, and never been disappointed.”
Mr Parkinson, UK
“One of my very best holidays ever.”
Ms Cullmann, Germany
“Everything worked like clockwork. We hadn't done one in about 20 years (with you) and it was just the same. Turns out the weather was rather warm for this time of year but not much you can control about the weather. Very much enjoyed the walk. Fun, fun fun. Loved the towns, paths and the views where at every step. We did a holiday 20 years ago with you and never forgot, so we booked this trip.”
Mr Blackley, USA
“We enjoyed the lovely scenery and small villages. The accommodations were well situated and the hosts were all very friendly and helpful.”
Mrs McRae, Canada
