About this route

The west section of the Dee Way trail pushes from Llangollen through the mountainous region of North Wales. As a chiefly riverside walk, it is largely low-level, with the occasional ascent up the mountain slopes to take in staggering views over the rugged shapes of the surrounding countryside.

This is the perfect walk to taste Wales’ rich culture and history, with 80% of Bala’s population speaking Welsh and plenty of parish churches and links to Owain Glyndwr to be found along the trail.
