Enjoy an engaging hike through changing landscapes from Fife’s industrial south to the rural north. The Fife Coastal Path explores an area of low cliffs and rocky bays, grass-tufted dunes and picturesque fishing villages. Glimpse grey seals basking on the rocks just off the shore, and count the abundant reminders of Scotland’s rich history, including the caves with prehistoric paintings, the castles and the old watch houses, to name but a few.
Between the many thriving little ports along the trail, the path explores a large part of Fife’s coastline, with plenty of beachside walking and scenic views over historic ruins to enjoy.

Explore the full length of the Fife Coastal Path from Queensferry in the south for Newport-on-Tay in the north on this stunning walking holiday. The landscapes are both diverse and beautiful, gradually changing from lively, industrial ports to quiet, rural scenery as the walk progresses.

“Myself and my wife are aged 71 and 68 respectively. We seek walks which are not too challenging. We enjoy coastal walks having previously walked the Norfolk Coastal Path booked through yourselves. The Fife coastal path didn’t disappoint. It’s demanding in stretches, especially the approach to Elie via the headland and the approach to St Andrews where various cliffs require a level of fitness and a high degree of caution. The overall scenery is stunning. June is an ideal month to visit Scotland (we’re from the north of Scotland originally), invariably affording better weather and long bright evenings. In summary, we’d thoroughly recommend our walk from Burntisland to St Andrews. We set aside 6 days to allow us to enjoy a rest day in Anstruther when we visited the Isle of May bird sanctuary. It’s possible to complete the walk in 4 days where we took 5. We’re now looking at our next walk with St Ives to Padstow a possibility.”Mr Henderson, UK
