About the trail

Art of the Lindisfarne Castle, found on the Northumberland Coast Path. The Northumberland Coast Path walking holiday tours wild, unspoilt countryside, where castle ruins loom on the headlands above long beaches of golden sand.

This gentle, low-level walk is predominantly coastal, with one arc inland to enjoy stunning views of the coast from St Cuthbert’s Cave. Castles adorn the rocky cliffs, and at low tide, you can make your way across a tidal causeway to Holy Island to explore the extensive ruins of Lindisfarne Priory.

With plenty of beach walking between bustling seaside towns, the complete Northumberland Coast Path is a pretty, approachable and friendly section of the England Coast Path. We also offer a Northumberland Coast Highlights tour that spans 28 miles and hits our absolute favourite sections along the way.

We offer multiple holiday options along this trail. If you wish to experience the entire trail, simply select the first option from the list below.
