About the trail

The Peak District National Park is well-suited for a short getaway, and this tour showcases some of its highlights in two days. We designed this tour as a ready-to-go gift option for a loved one or a mini break for yourself, because everyone deserves a break now and again!

This is a single-centre tour — where you return to the same accommodation both nights — with three mileage options to choose from. Whether you opt for the longest route from Wyedale to Hathersage, the mid-length route from Millers Dale to Bamford, or the shortest route from Tideswell to Hope, you will certainly find this little piece of the Peaks very fulfilling to explore.

Stay in one accommodation for the duration, with a lift to the trail on the first morning and back to your accommodation after the final day's hike. Choose from three mileage options and explore at your own pace.

Castleton Two-Night Break - Long

The longest version of this two-night walk covers 27.5 miles of the area’s best and most diverse sights. Are you ready for a bite-sized adventure?

After spending the first night of your holiday in the historic village of Castleton, a taxi will collect you from your accommodation in the morning and drop you off at Wyedale. From here, you will begin your walk back to base, following the River Wye and Tideswell Brook for the first half of the day. After Tideswell, the route passes through changing terrain before arriving back at Castleton, with every turn offering something new.

Your second walking day will then begin from your accommodation’s doorstep and continue along the trail, passing caverns, conquering hilltops and chasing the River Derwent towards your stopping point in Hathersage. A taxi transfer will then take you back to Castleton to collect your luggage, signalling the completion of your tour.
