2026 brings a host of great new trails to Contours Holidays! This year we’re launching the Pilgrims’ Way, a great new linear walk that crosses southern England along a historic pilgrimage route, alongside the opportunity to sample the Cotswolds or Peak District with a series of circular day walks on two new twin-centre holidays.
Trying to tempt a reluctant friend onto the trails? Our two-night walking breaks are ideal, easy to fit into a tight schedule but offering an immersive taste of the British countryside that’s sure to win over everyone. Of course, you can always book them for yourself instead and escape to the countryside for a long weekend...

A 64-mile exploration of the southern Cotswold landscape

Full of slow rivers, deciduous woodland and famous honey-stone architecture hosting local shops, pubs and restaurants, the Cotswolds provide the ideal setting for a walking holiday. The twin centres for this tour are the market towns of Tetbury and Cirencester, each offering a varied set of circular walks in the day.
Wander between the trees of Westonbirt Arboretum and Cirencester Park, hike through farmland to long views, and enjoy gentle waterside paths beside streams and the Severn Canal.
Discover the moorland expanses and hilltop views of the Peak District

The Peak District is heaven for walkers, offering remote and varied landscapes crisscrossed by footpaths – and a host of characterful towns with excellent pub grub and café fare along the way. Why not try out some of the region’s most famous routes on our twin-centre tour of the Peaks?
From Hathersage and Edale, you’ll tour gritstone edges and historic villages, wander alongside the River Derwent and through Cave Dale, and clamber to the spectacular heights of Mam Tor, Lose Hill and Lord’s Seat. It’s a brilliant, focused way to see some of the best countryside Britain has to offer.
Choose the long, medium or short route on these immersive short walks
Our new two-night short walking breaks feature two nights at a central town and two days rambling the surrounding area. These holidays are perfect if you’re just starting out or only have a short space of time available.

144 miles through woodland, farmland, orchard and the North Downs

Walk in the footsteps of pilgrims on this winding long-distance walking holiday across the south of England. The Pilgrims’ Way is a historic route that tours through rural communities and up into the North Downs, following St Swithun’s Way and then wending alongside the North Downs National Trail, with several shared sections.
You’ll enjoy opportunities to visit Winchester and Canterbury cathedrals at either end of the walk: two impressive spiritual structures with plenty of history to absorb.
