An iconic walk across England via the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors.
From £397 per person
Created by Alfred Wainwright, the Coast to Coast Walk crosses the breadth of the North of England from St Bees on the west coast to Robin Hood’s Bay on the east coast. Some of the most varied and beautiful scenery in the country lies ahead, spread over three National Parks.
Wainwright’s Coast to Coast Walk clambers the rugged mountains of the Lake District to earn views over glittering tarns. It winds through the pretty valleys of the Yorkshire Dales and sets out across the expansive heather moorland of the North York Moors. Dramatic coastal scenery waits at the end, with a twisting descent to Robin Hood’s Bay.
The Coast to Coast Walk became a National Trail in March 2026, with new waymarking completed throughout. There’s never been a better time to choose this country-crossing walking holiday and explore the best landscapes of Northern England.

“The transport of my bags was seamless- it was so reassuring to see them at the end of each day!”Dr Moore, UK
“This holiday was primarily about the walking and the scenery so was significantly weather dependent. Apart from a few showers the weather was excellent and previous weeks\' dry weather also ensured it was generally dry underfoot. The luggage transfers, apart from being a little late arriving a couple of times, seemed to work well. The accommodation was interestingly varied and generally good to excellent with only a few negatives.”Mr Shenton, UK
“Superb weather and views, no rain at all, cloud on two days. Would definitely recommend you to others.”Mr Lonergan, UK
“3rd time we have walked the C2C. Really enjoyed it. Weather was a little inclement in the first week but still enjoyed every bit of it. Accommodation very good. Baggage transfer excellent.”Mrs Rudkin, UK
“A fantastic and surprisingly social experience! Very well planned and organised.”Mr Brown, UK
“Definitely one of the best trails I have done. Popularity of trail meant it was possible to meet up with other walkers at the end of day which is nice as a solo walker.”Mr Parish, UK
“Some great places to stay and the weather was good to us.”Mrs Graham, UK
“On 21 September I and my walking partners completed the Coast to Coast walk. It was everything I had hoped it would be. Each day offered a different joy and challenge. Our evenings in the Inns or B&Bs were comfortable and welcoming. The baggage and end of day transfers were positive. The folks we met along the way were a bonus. Cheers and thank you for providing the support for a fabulous holiday.”Mrs Montesanti, USA
“A very nice period without real busy towns and traffic, good way to see the diversity of landscape and people. The start was as expected the hard part because length of track and the weather in the Lake district.”Mr Kingma, Netherlands
