Your Itinerary

This itinerary lists our preferred overnight stops for this tour. Sometimes there may be a shortage of available accommodation in a preferred location, in which case we will transfer you from the trail to your accommodation and back again at no extra charge. Overnight stops marked with a (T) will always require transfers as standard.

Overnight stops marked with an (L) have very limited accommodation, and therefore more often than not will also require a transfer, particularly on bank holidays and weekends. We will use non-transfer accommodation wherever possible.

The daily mileages quoted are average trail miles only and do not include the distance from the trail to your accommodation. We do not expect you to have to travel more than a mile from the trail to your accommodation in most cases; should your accommodation be further than this, transfers will be provided as standard if practical. A very limited number of stops will require you to travel on foot up to two miles off the trail, however these instances will be clearly communicated to you if applicable.

Further transfers may also be required due to some accommodations having a two-night minimum booking policy, especially at weekends.

Below are the additional costs that may apply depending on your requirements. Dog-friendly tours are subject to a Daily Dog Charge, which will be listed below if applicable. Our standard prices per person are based upon two people sharing a room; if you are on your own, or are part of a group but require a room of your own, then the Solo Traveller or Single Supplements apply respectively:

Extra Nights & Rest Days

An extra night is perfect if you woud like to explore the sights and sounds of the Cotswolds or to simply rest your weary legs.

Moreton-in-Marsh is a popular choice for an extra night - the historic city of Oxford is only 30 minutes away by train.

Winchcombe is also a great location to explore. It is a charming small town with two or three inns, many attractive old Tudor houses, cottages with roses clambering over their porches and a fine church containing an altar cloth worked by Catherine of Aragon, Henry VIII's first wife. Forty-five grotesque gargoyles, each representing a local character from the 1460ss adorn its outer walls. Winchcombe is also a good base for exploring Sudeley Castle and its romantic gardens.

Broadway is also a lovely village with two wonderful churches, a fine old inn and some interesting little shops.

“Well organised, good map and guidebook, great accommodation.”
Mr Pfeifer, UK
“A wonderful holiday. Just what I hoped it would be.”
Mr Atkinson, Australia
“Our first visit to the Cotswolds and it exceeded all our expectations. Winchcombe to Broadway and Broadway to Moreton-in-Marsh were our favourite sections but the whole walk was great.”
Mr Saxton, UK
“The route directions were excellent and the map was well detailed. The problems we had initially were dealt with promptly and we were given reassurance that holiday would go to plan. It was a different holiday to anything else we’ve experienced. We like being active every day. Luggage was always waiting for us on arrival at the accommodation.”
Mrs Braid, UK
“The Cotswolds are beautiful and being able to walk during the day and have my bags taken to my next night's accommodation was fabulous.”
Ms Birnie, Australia
“We loved the job that Contours did. The places we stayed were great. The walking/hiking information was complete and accurate. We plan to go again on a different walk.”
Mr Eubank, USA
“One of my very best holidays ever.”
Ms Cullmann, Germany
“Everything worked like clockwork. We hadn't done one in about 20 years (with you) and it was just the same. Turns out the weather was rather warm for this time of year but not much you can control about the weather. Very much enjoyed the walk. Fun, fun fun. Loved the towns, paths and the views where at every step. We did a holiday 20 years ago with you and never forgot, so we booked this trip.”
Mr Blackley, USA
“The hike in the Cotswolds was great! We really enjoyed the shorter hiking days and having time to enjoy the villages/towns where we stayed. Your staff was very receptive to our questions during the planning process and quick to respond. Even the weather was awesome!”
Mrs Stamm, USA
