The Yorkshire Wolds Way travels through a tranquil corner of England that has remained largely unchanged for centuries. This landscape of softly rounded chalk hills and flower-filled hedgerows is alive with butterflies, birds, and villages nestled in wooded dells.
Between England’s most famous deserted medieval village at Wharram Percy, views across the Humber Bridge to the towers of Lincoln Cathedral, and the quaint seaside resort of Filey, there’s plenty to catch your attention on this remote, peaceful walking holiday, one of the shortest National Trails.
Crossing the Yorkshire countryside from the foot of the Humber Bridge to the crumbling cliffs of Filey.
Visiting Yorkshire pubs for a well-earned taste of local ale, including the Wold Top Brewery, which sits on the trail near Hunmanby.
Catching a glimpse of the looming North York Moors over the Vale of Pickering.

“I loved it. A new part of Yorkshire for me and I thought it was beautiful. The way-marking on this route is so good you would have to try quite hard to get lost! I have now been booking with Contours most years since about 2000 and I have always had good service. I tell other walkers I meet how good it is.”Dr Bailey, UK
