The Northumberland Coast Path walking holiday tours wild, unspoilt countryside, where castle ruins loom on the headlands above long beaches of golden sand.
This gentle, low-level walk is predominantly coastal, with one arc inland to enjoy stunning views of the coast from St Cuthbert’s Cave. Castles adorn the rocky cliffs, and at low tide, you can make your way across a tidal causeway to Holy Island to explore the extensive ruins of Lindisfarne Priory.

“This was the first walk I ever did with Contours back in April 2010 (but it was then in the other direction), and I’ve wanted to revisit it for a while. It’s a stunning stretch of coastline with lots of things to see along the way. Definitely a good route to try for anyone new to long-distance walking, as it’s mainly flat and has very good waymarking.”Mr Julyan, UK
“It was a fantastic break. Superb scenery, pleasant, easy walking, lovely accommodations. It all went as we hoped it would. The paths were very well signposted (no need for instructions whilst walking) and the walking was good and relatively flat.”Miss Arris, UK
