Minimise the upheaval of a traditional linear holiday with our exclusive twin-centre walking holidays. This new format involves staying in a single accommodation for the first half of your adventure as you explore the surrounding area on brilliant circular day walks. On the third day, you'll hike to a different accommodation further afield and settle there for two more days of round trips.
Twin-centre holidays are a great way to discover some of the UK's most popular landscapes. Scroll down to see the areas these new adventures cover.
A 64-mile exploration of the southern Cotswold landscape

Full of slow rivers, deciduous woodland and famous honey-stone architecture hosting local shops, pubs and restaurants, the Cotswolds provide the ideal setting for a walking holiday. The twin centres for this tour are the market towns of Tetbury and Cirencester, each offering a varied set of circular walks in the day.
Wander between the trees of Westonbirt Arboretum and Cirencester Park, hike through farmland to long views, and enjoy gentle waterside paths beside streams and the Severn Canal.
A 52-mile double loop through England's most mountainous spaces

The Lake District is famous for its huge mountain vistas and wide-ranging network of spectacular walking trails, which made it a clear candidate for a twin-centre walk. From Keswick, you'll follow the shores of Derwentwater and clamber up Latrigg and Lonscale, then ramble across to Rosthwaite to take in views from Catbells and High Spy.
Discover the moorland expanses and hilltop views of the Peak District

The Peak District is heaven for walkers, offering remote, varied landscapes crisscrossed by footpaths and visiting a host of characterful towns with excellent pub grub and café fare along the way. Why not walk some of the region’s most famous routes on our twin-centre tour of the Peaks?
From Hathersage and Edale, you’ll tour gritstone edges and historic villages, wander alongside the River Derwent and through Cave Dale, and clamber to the spectacular heights of Mam Tor and Lord’s Seat. It’s a focused way to see some of the best countryside Britain has to offer.
Explore around Settle and Malham

Set out into the Yorkshire Dales from twin bases in Settle and Malham. The area's well known for its green fields and drystone walls, with thundering rivers and picturesque villages to explore, and our twin-centre holiday takes in several famous favourites: Stainforth Force, Giggleswick Scar and Catrigg Force. Walk across to Settle and visit Malham Cove, Gordale Scar and Janet's Foss, on looping daily hikes with far-reaching views throughout.
“This new idea of staying in one place multiple nights, and doing circular walks from there, is brilliant. We still love to walk to lodgings each day, but getting to know a small town, not having to pack up, was a plus. The walks themselves are spectacular, especially the Malham Cove/Tarn loop. We had perfect weather, and the trails were not crowded. Our two lodgings were excellent.”Yorkshire Dales Twin Centre
“This Contours Lake District Twin Centre holiday is a very good introduction to the area. The routes provided are accessible for most walkers of moderate fitness. The routes are well described and easy to follow (a GPX file for electronic navigation is also provided).”Lake District Twin Centre
“Having just two guest houses instead of moving on every day was a real treat and we loved it. Settle and Malham provided good bases for our walks. We’ll be looking at any other similar walks where we only move on once in the future. Such a good idea.”Yorkshire Dales Twin Centre
“Lovely area that was easy to get to via train from Leeds. We enjoyed staying in a central location for several days. The hikes provided an excellent variety of geologic interest.”Yorkshire Dales Twin Centre
“A great thing about Contours is that you guys are the experts in our eyes. We've never had a bad experience, and we know you've picked the routes that are special. We love the UK but don't live there, but we trust that you've found the beautiful places for we unfortunate outsiders to experience. Keep doing what you're doing and we'll keep coming back!”Yorkshire Dales Twin Centre
“Great holiday for walkers. The instructions were really detailed and accurate for each walk. The walks covered lots of different terrain so very interesting. The two guest houses were very good with friendly helpful hosts. All in all a great holiday!”Yorkshire Dales Twin Centre
“Happy walkers in the Dales. The accommodations, luggage transfer and trip packs were all excellent. This was our 4th holiday with Contours and our first time trying one with only 2 bases to walk from. The two guest houses we stayed in were outstanding for location, comfort and hospitality.”Yorkshire Dales Twin Centre
