A coast-to-coast tour of the Tamar Valley, following the border of Cornwall and Devon.
From £535 per person
Opened in July 2023, the Tamara Coast to Coast Way utilizes existing footpaths to form a fabulous route through the countryside of southwest England that has previously been overlooked by coast-seeking visitors. The fact that it links to the South West Coast Path on either end (allowing for an epic circular tour of Cornwall) is certainly part of its appeal, but this trail makes for a beautiful linear walk in its own right.
From Plymouth to Morwenstow, the Tamara Way largely follows the route of the River Tamar, tracing its journey upstream through the Tamar Valley National Landscape. As you meander along the county border between Cornwall and Devon, you will encounter a variety of charming landscapes, welcoming villages, and several intriguing historic sites to explore, offering something of interest for all tastes to enjoy.
From £920 per person
This tour option covers the full Tamara Coast to Coast Way and all its scenic wonders. Though the trail officially begins at Cremyl, you will spend your first night in the lively port city of Plymouth, which provides ample opportunity to stock up for your walk.
From there, you will wander through the countryside along riverbanks and estuaries, visiting ancient churches, traversing vibrant nature reserves, and admiring far-reaching viewpoints before reuniting with the sea at Morwenstow. If you’re craving a relaxing Cornish walking retreat, which largely avoids the crowds of the coastal resorts, this trail will certainly not disappoint.
